Annunciation

When we are in New Orleans, we stay at the  Church of the Annunciation, in the Broadmoor area of the city. The church, like most of the rest of Broadmoor, was a complete loss. After the storm, the congregation decided to be a part of the relief effort. They distributed supplies, and turned part of their building into dormitories for the volunteers who came to New Orleans to rebuild.

Annunciation has housed thousands of volunteers since 2006, and continues to support not only rebuilding efforts in Broadmoor, but also tutoring and summer camps for school children and providing food for those in need.
